Florida Rail Road Museum Model Railroad presented by CDE Trainz

This route is built with TRS19 SP3. The route includes two sessions. A Tour session and an unlocked Base session. 10% of CDE Trainz net revenue for this route will will be donated to the Florida Railroad Museum or FRRM.

The real model is located at the FRRM in Parrish Florida USA. It is built inside UP #5642. Built in 1954 for Union Pacific by American Car & Foundry, the car was sold to a private collector in 1999. In 2010, the FRRM acquired it, and in 2015-2016, reintroduced it as UP5642 Florida Railroad Museum – Model Railroad Division.

The original is built in G scale and runs O scale trains. This re-creation utilizes HO scale in the same space and formatted for Trainz, which allows for additional scenery to be refitted into the space (possible real life upgrade in the future?), so the layout is not a prototypical representation, but rather an expansion of the real route. The map is 4 x 1 baseboards with multiple industries like Tropicana, lumber industries, passenger stations and the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Built by the Phoenix Foundry in Ballarat, Victoria, between 1900 and 1901, the V class was the first 2-8-0 locomotive class on the Victorian Railways, designed for use on branch lines around Victoria, and was a predecessor to the K class and J class locomotives. Originally built as Vauclain Compound locomotives, which used the steam twice to propel the locomotive before exhausting out the chimney, the class was reboilered and converted to Simple Expansion locomotives in 1912-13.

This pack features the Phoenix Foundry V class locomotives, as running between 1900 and approximately 1905-7, in a freelance post 1920s styled black livery, with 3 levels of weathering, and highly detailed textures using TRS19’s new PBR materials with height maps.

This locomotive is designed for broad gauge (5ft3in gauge) track.

This is not just a relaxing experience. Dr. Lora Heugens talks about anxiety, how to calm down and feel good about yourself. She talks about common scenarios that normally makes people anxious and goes into details to react to them. She describes how to handle anxiety before, during and after anxious experiences. In one of the sessions she describes the process that will enable you to calm yourself quickly and efficiently anytime. Of course this material includes a relaxing story that you can come back to anytime to calm yourself as well.

First you learn the way to breathe properly, followed by the doctor explaining some basics about anxiety. The main story gives us an opportunity to learn the way to look at life experiences as an outsider while going into a deep relaxation state. Then the doctor explains how to utilize the learnings provided as well as explaining what happiness means and how to achieve it. She also gives real life examples explaining different scenarios before, during and after events that usually make people anxious.

In addition to the relaxation exercise and learning the user is welcomed to walk around the area which is designed to be a calming mountain setting.

The features and content a customer can expect to be included with their purchase is:
1: as detailed above the customer can select buttons. Each of those buttons start a different session of relaxation experience
2: as detailed above, the button called “Breathe” starts the session explaining how to properly breathe.
3: as detailed above, the button called “Happiness” starts the session explaining how to become a happy person
Other buttons are more self-explanatory.

This material was designed to be a relaxing game like exercise. In case any person is referenced in the game, it is accidental. Having said that; we do hope this material helps someone relax.

As a game designer, you often find yourself doing research on how other games do things – it’s a good way to get ideas, see what works and what doesn’t, and build an understanding of the space you’re solving problems in. Usually this research involves buying a lot of games and playing until you get to the part you want to see, if you can remember the games that have it!

How nice it would be, I thought, if someone collected all the reference for particular ways of doing things in one place. Thus was born the Museum of Mechanics, and the first entry: Lockpicking. Many genres and types of games include lockpicking minigames, so I thought I would do an exploration of a broad swathe of them and gather them together in a single place. This is the result. I hope you’ll join me in exploring the different ways this has been done through the history of games.
