Hi all, thank you for checking out Delos: Space Traffic Control. I’ve been working on this game for a few months in my spare time – probably accruing a few hundred hours worth of development. That being said, the game is –buggy– at this current juncture. It will crash. There are missing features. If revenue allows for it, I would absolutely love to keep working on this, adding new features, and gradually bumping up the price by a dollar or two as it becomes a more substantial game. As it is now, I hope the price point is acceptable with the current state of the game!

For full transparency, here are some things currently missing:

– Sound effects (really)

– Visual effects for ship collisions

– Any sort of progression (i.e. station upgrades)

But, my favorite feature is in game – it is a singleplayer game, but you can chat with other players in the comms menu!

Here is what I’d like to add to the game should revenue allow for continued development:

– Lane drawing: Draw and assign lanes for ships to travel on

– Ship patience timer: Get the ship in and out of your sector within the allotted time or else it incurs an incident

– Reputation system: Gain reputation with pilots/corporations to facilitate more gameplay options between them

– Narrative: Learn about the world through talking with the pilots that dock at your station

– Station upgrades: Bigger berths, bigger ships, station infrastructure, etc.

– And a lot more

Outer Space Shack is a base building game that simulates the key constraints of space exploration. From rocket payloads to solar panel yield, every element in the game is based on real-life characteristics.



As you build and expand your space base, you’ll need to plan an efficient layout and increase its capabilities through new buildings and machinery. Use rovers to do the heavy work at first, and then bring in astronauts to live and work on the base. As you grow from an uncomfortable shack to a small village, develop businesses to make your base self-sustaining.



But building a space base is only half the challenge. You’ll also need to protect your astronauts from the hazards of space, such as radiation and space dust, and ensure their mental and physical well-being.



With a realistic time scale and the option to play at different speeds, Outer Space Shack offers a unique and challenging gameplay experience. But don’t worry, the game has been designed to be relaxing and easy to play, with as much automation as possible and no need to worry about placing cables and pipes.



Celebrate your space odyssey with a visit to the in-game space museum, and remember the struggles and triumphs of your journey.

The work uses virtual reality and non-linear sound composition technologies to poetically explore the presence of human beings in their environment. By wearing the headset, the viewer is immersed in a forest generated by point cloud data, which evolves according to their observational attitude and type of attention they give to it.

The experience begins in a virtual environment swept by wind, snow and fog. If the viewer moves slowly, the wind dies down and the fog dissipates. Various noises gradually emerge: a gurgling stream, a flutter of beating wings, a crackle or the rustle of dry grass underfoot. The more still the viewer becomes and simply observes, the more the micromovements of the forest become perceptible and multiply. Sounds and animals seem to come closer, birds appear, a woodpecker drums on a tree… This peaceful environment full of delicate details collapses as soon as the observer makes a sudden gesture. Then the storm returns, leaving only the fading shadows of volatile particles behind.

What struck me when I experimented with virtual reality was the impression that the body becomes an empty space: it exists and sees around it what it is proposed to see, but remains erased. This made me aware of an important and recurrent aspect of my work, an angle that I had never explicitly examined before, that of the presence that is nevertheless intrinsic to the use of interactivity and sound in my installations.

Living in Quebec City and Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Caroline Gagné graduated from Laval University with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (1998) and an interdisciplinary Master of Arts (2012). She has participated in the National Biennial of Contemporary Sculpture in Trois-Rivières, the Temps d’images festival (Montreal), the Saint-Jean-Port-Joli Sculpture Biennial, the Manif d’art biennial and the Mois Multi (Quebec City). Her works have also been exhibited at Occurrence (Montreal), Stewart Hall Art Gallery (Montreal), Sporobole (Sherbrooke), VU (Quebec City) and Action Art Actuel (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu). In 2011, her work CARGO earned her a Quebec City Award of Excellence in Arts and Culture.
